Personality Bio
Tracey McCaskill is a native Detroiter, and grew up on the city’s northwest side. After graduating from St. Agatha High School, she went on to Wayne State University and then transferred to Michigan State University where she earned a B.A. in journalism. Tracey accepted her first professional position with the American Lung Association of Michigan. She s worked with the non-profit organization for seven years in the business office initially, and then as an Adult/Child Lung Health Program Coordinator. In the "coordinator" position, she performed a myriad of duties including fundraising, promotions , media relations and taking on the responsibility of Camp Director for Camp Sun Deer -- a free camp for kids with asthma.
“Radio has been a passion for me since I was at least 12 years of age.” To help bring her dream to fruition, Tracey enrolled in the Specs Howard School Of Broadcast Arts. Soon after graduating in 1996, she accepted her first “real” radio job with WQHH Power 96.5FM in Lansing. Tracey assumed the role of News Director and Co-hosted the morning show. “The experience was phenomenal.” Tracey could not ask for a better first radio job. " I still consider so many of the folks at that station true friends."
In 2001, Tracey arrived at Mix 92.3 as an Afternoon Drive Traffic Reporter and on-air host. She is now Mix’s Production Director, and in this role she is responsible for every aspect of commercial production, execution and imaging for the station. She is also host of “The Saturday Morning Weekend Mix” as well as "Community Calendar" and "Mix Health Matters." Tracey values her role at Mix 92.3 and has been able to gain a tremendous amount of absolutely priceless experience.
Tracey says ..."I work in so many capacities here at Mix, so I consider myself a JACK of all trades -- BUT -- I master them ALL."
Outside the station, Tracey enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves reading, (Toni Morrison is her favorite author) exercising, (aerobics, pilates, and strength training with free weights are a lethal but effective combination) and traveling. Most importantly, Tracey is committed (with God's help) to doing whatever possible to enjoy a healthy and happy life! Q & A
