Personality Bio
Gerald McBride is a Detroit radio veteran with over 25 year of experience and a Mumford High School graduate of the class of 1975.

Radio Legend Donnie Simpson Of WJLB AM 1400 inspired Gerald to get in the business through a program called the “Soul Teen Reporters”. Gerald would read the weekly announcements for his High school which gave him the opportunity to be on the inside of a radio station. This experience fascinated him and gave him the desire to pursue his career in broadcasting. In 1977 he enrolled in the Spec Howard School of Broadcasting were he graduated and began his first job in Flint, Michigan at WAMM AM Radio. Stations where he has worked include WDZZ Flint, WLBS Mt. Clemens, WDRQ 93FM Detroit, WDKX Rochester, New York, WGPR TV62 (where he hosted a TV Dance show called “Contempo”). He also had a short stint at WHYT 96.3FM, and from 1987 to 1990 he held down the midday shift at WJLB 98FM. In 1991, Gerald took on the morning show at WJZZ. Finally, in 1992, he settled in at MIX 92.3 FM where he currently hosts "Saturday Night Live”.

Gerald Also owns his own production studio called “Voice Over Productions”, were he produces radio and TV commercials. His voice can be heard locally on commercials for Mr. Alan's, The Broadway City Slicker Shoes, Zeidmans, and a number of different concert and entertainment events in major cities across the country. "One of the reasons I got into radio, is that I wanted to be around Music. You know, they say that some of us Radio Personalities are just frustrated musicians. I love the Radio business and I thank God every day that he has given me the anointing to fulfill my calling!"

GERALD'S DAUGHTER BRANDY GET'S MARRIED
Wednesday 08-06-2008 6:10pm ET
Wow what a day I'll never forget! My little girl Brandy getting married! What were the thoughts on my mind as I walked her down the aisle with over 250 guest watching every step we took? I was thinking have I told her everything she needed to know to prepare for this day? Is she ready to handle the many challenges of life and marriage? Many of you who are dads that experienced this were probably asking yourself the same thing. As I approached the front of the room to release her to her husband to be I told myself "okay Gerald don't cry Man up"! But as the ceremony took place and Brandy began to cry tears of joy I couldn't hold it back! I also noticed that not only did I began to cry but most of the audience where also crying tears of joy! I believe that all these tears of joy were confirmation of God's love that filled the room! And knowing that God was okay with this union of two people that I could rest assure that Brandy was ready and totally prepared for this new journey in life.
