Personality Bio
Frankie Darcell is mother, lecturer, businesswoman, author, talk show host and one of metropolitan Detroit's most prominent radio personalities. She has been spokeswoman for women tackling real issues, while combining lively listener interaction along with Detroit's strongest songs, for a great ride home, when she worked for WJLB FM 98.

A graduate of Morgan State University where she earned a bachelor of arts in telecommunications, Frankie has enjoyed over a 22-year career as a radio broadcast professional. Over the years Frankie's talk show, "Talk Of The Town," has enjoyed overwhelming popularity. From "Talk Of The Town" to her current projects, Frankie's ability to address issues head on with integrity, honesty, and passion along with her no nonsense approach to serious subject matter, has made her popular with young and mature fans alike, particularly women between the aged 18-54. Her broadcast savvy has catapulted her into the forefront of women's issues, where she tackles critical topics such as empowerment, self-esteem, teen pregnancy, parenting and the challenge of personal relationships.

Launching her writing career in 1999, Frankie co-authored and released her autobiography, A Story To Tell. The limited edition book was well received by her fans, selling 1800 copies. Her second book, Conversations For Sisters Only, promises to capture an even larger following.

Frankie has evolved her radio-based "Talk Of The Town" signature format into a weekly television program on WADL called "Talk of the Town TV".

Personifying the ultimate achiever and career woman, Frankie's true commitments are to people and personal relationships. For those close to the local media icon, it is clear that with all of her awards and accomplishments, her greatest joy is being with her young daughter, Phallon.

Currently Frankie continues to do what she loves. She is a midday radio personality on Mix 92.3 while writing to inspire the women of metro Detroit, as well as hosting her television program, "Talk of the Town TV". Her influence ever growing in each case, Frankie Darcell continues to relate, inform, and educate local listeners, readers, and viewers.

Judge Rules Enough Evidence For Mayor To Stand Trial
Wayne County District Court Judge Ronald Giles ruled there is enough evidence for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to stand trial on felony assault charges.

Giles heard testimony from a Michigan State Detective Sgt. Twyla Powell, Investigator Joann Kinney and Investigator Brian Kinney on Friday morning in 36th District Court. The mayor's attorneys argued the two officers, Kinney and White, who said they were at Ayanna Kilpatrick's house to serve Bobby Fergusen a subpoena knew they were going to the wrong house.

In addition, there is evidence that shows Det. White was not under duress during the incident as he claimed, where he made obscene jokes about the situation and discussed how newsworthy it would be. Click Here to listen to the audio and vote below.

Rodney Stuckey
I went to the Pistons game and noticed Rodney Stuckey! He is clearly the future of the Pistons and NBA. His style is so similar to Chauncey Billups... STRONG offense and defense, but more importantly he is fine as hell! Watch out for Number 3!

Listener E-Mails

I was listening to you on the radio as
usual during this time of the day. I wanted to say that I saw Dateline
last night as well and thought about how bold was the wife to enter some
else's house without knocking first. She had a lot of faith and nerve
that the lady's house she was entering was not a psycho, ghetto woman
with several guns awaiting her entry after hearing a key in her doorknob
even if she thought it could be her so-called boyfriend coming home
early. I just thought that was very bold of the wife. Also the overall
situation is crazy and the so-called hit-woman who stood her own the
entire time was superb and I commend her for going to the police with
this information let alone willing to wear a wire and camera to actual
catch this person called a man with his no good self all around. He
definitely should have got more time than 4.5- 10 years in prison. I am
not sure I would collaborate with the wife on writing a book about this
situation let alone befriend her. Now befriend the hit-woman is
something totally different she actually saved her life. So that is my
opinion on that note. Have a bless and safe week!

Love Ya,
N

***********************************************************************

Frankie,
The actions of Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel and President Ken Cockrel yesterday was embarrassing at best! She totally disrespected the Deputy Mayor as well as the Administration and it's time for the people to say enough already. Sheila Cockrel has been carrying a deep chip on her shoulders for months now and it is coming out at that table. The Council is out of control and no City business is getting done, just arguments and settling political scores with each other the Mayor. I for one as a community leader and Pastor am tired of it and can't wait for election time. They all need to go home and sit down somewhere. Ken Cockrel is an embarrassment to every president that has sat in that chair! Both Cockrels owe the DeputyMayor and the Mayor an apology. Finally Frankie how irresponsible was it for Sheila Cockrel to bring an unsigned accusatorial letter to the council table and on the strength of a spineless letter writer halt city business.

A.J.

Frankie,
It is a real shame when the people we have put our trust in, to run the City Government act the way they did yesterday on camera. It really makes you wonder are they fit for the responsibility they have been given. I find it very hard to believe that these are people that seem to have no self control, that have this much power over the affairs of our great city.

I was very disappointed and sad to see that yesterday. We need help.

Sincerely,
C
